It's going crazy...I'm full time, salaried as a Facilitator/Trainer/Peer Support Specialist on the Crisis Recovery Team we just started up. I've also been promised a promotion to supervisor of the Peer Support Specialists in the next few months.

We have been getting SLAMMED with people in crisis, which is unusual for January...Usually March is our busy month.

We expanded the hours of our drop-in center to noon-8 pm every day, including holidays. We were 11-5 Monday through Friday. People walk in, call in, or are brought in by police, and we do an assessment to see if we can provide services, a referral to other agencies, or if they need to go to the hospital or jail. We will be starting a 24/7 hotline in the next few months, and I'm going to be one of the on-call people for that, as well...Meaning I'll get calls on my nights on at all hours.

I'm one of the security people at my job...I've stepped into conflicts before. But they've never escalated once I've done that. Now we're getting cameras, which I'm not keen on. The other measures I don't mind, but cameras I don't like. :nono:
