Innovation or Playability?

What is more important for you when you play a game? See new exciting ideas, new ways of gamedesign etc...

Or are you a person who prefers the old ways of gaming, working formulas like FInal Fantasy which have stood the test of time for over 10 years?

With the types of games I play (mostly hidden object games for the PC), innovation is important or the customer loses interest. Lately most of those types of games have been what's called IHOGs (Interactive Hidden Object Games) wherein while you still have to search for items in a scene, the items you find will have to be used later in a puzzle or to move forward in the game in some fashion.

I like innovative games but sometimes a ripoff can be as great (see Darksiders which is A LOT like God of War... which I love).
