Flash Gordon

Found this on Blu-ray, and guess what's contained on it that I never knew even existed?

Apparently before they made the incredibly cheesy movie, they made an incredibly cheesy serial that was shown in movie theaters in the late '30s, episode one of which was contained on the disc. Now I kinda want to see the rest of them! Wonder if they've been preserved somewhere?

I'd love you forever if you did. It was quite funny; used iguanas with pasted on horns as monsters and was just generally silly. The chick playing Princess Aura... I dunno, for some reason I could only focus on one thing about her (and it makes me sound like I'm lusting after her); namely her tits. They were kinda prominent. 'Twas weird.

Oh it so was.

Flash Gordon the movie is quite amusing as well. I start giggling every time Flash introduces himself to Emperor Ming the Merciless as "Flash Gordon, quarterback New York Jets" like it'll have any meaning whatsoever for an alien. This was also an early movie for Timothy Dalton (aka James Bond); he played Prince Barin. Max Sydow was Ming; he's this kinda creepy Asian looking bald dude. You'd recognize him if you saw him I'm sure.
